In today’s society, a lot of new treatments are emerging such as laser therapy and drugs that can help alleviate signs and symptoms of diseases. Going back in the old ages when people did not have these kind of treatments at their reach – our ancestors relied on herbs, plants and some chemicals for medicinal purposes. Scents of aromatic plants have been appreciated for centuries for their health-giving properties and heady aromas.
Essential Aromatherapy Oils Guide ? Massage? Uhh?
Aromatherapy is the modern advancement of this ancient art, using essential oils to enhance well-being , amend ailments and to promote good health. The explanations for its growing fame are many, not the least being its gentle, natural style to healing and its soothing effects on the body. Essences have a strong psychological influence over us. Our sense of smell was historically one of the powerful constituents of behavior, indeed of survival.
Over and above 150 essential oils are now produced for aromatherapy, though some are relatively ambiguous. Each essential oil has specific clinical benefits which can be applied in different ways. For instance, essential oils weild a powerful aromatic sensation. This alone may be sufficient to benefit, to refresh, or upsurge a sense of wellbeing. Other oils and fragrances are popularly known for their antiseptic properties and are more effectively applied straightly to minor wounds.

Aromatherapy and Essential Oils Benefits - Are There More?
Some help relieve pain or stress, and are especially applied through massage or bathing or inhalation. Aromatherapy massage oils like Eucalyptus oil are used during a therapeutic massage. It can be massaged into the face, back, chest, top of the hands, soles of the feet or the relevant part of the body in cases like arthritic or rheumatic pain.
If you do not have enough time for a suitable massage, apply an ample amount of essential oil mix on the back of your hands, back of the neck, the temples, the third eye, under the nose, and behind the ears. This will stimulate the peripheral circulation and the accurate oil will help you regain stamina.
The Best Aromatherapy Oils: Uses and Some More Benefits
Among the essential aromatherapy oils, I would say these 3 are the most favorite: Bergamot, Eucalyptus and Lavender oil. Bergamot oil is made from a tree or fruit peel by expression. The method of expression is usually used in citrus oils. Traditionally, expression is performed by hand, today it is done by a machine. Bergamot oil has light, delicate and citrus-style scent. It relieves stomach pain, digestive and menstrual symptoms.
Eucalyptus oil is made from a Eucalyptus tree leaf through the process of distillation. The plant material is placed on a grid inside a distillation vat and steam passes it under pressure. The steam’s heat causes the cell wall of the plant material to open as it releases essential oil as vapor. Eucalyptus has a clear, sharp and piercing aroma. Its oil can be used as a soothing decongestant and eases symptoms associated with cold and flu. Also, it has warming qualities that help relieve muscular cramps (like charlie horse leg cramps) and may offer relief for arthritic and rheumatic pain.
Lastly, I believe Lavender oil is not only the most favorite oil, but it is also the most prominent scent. Lavender oil is taken from the plants’ shrubs and flowers. The oil is made by distillation and it gives a light, floral and refreshing scent. It relieves the upper respiratory symptoms and is useful in easing symptoms associated with nausea, colic and flatulence. The oil is also helpful for joints and varicose veins.
We should always consider quality when we buy stuff, whether that’s tomatoes from the market or essential oils. Most people believe that ‘organic aromatherapy oils’ are simply just another ‘nickname’ for essential oils. Thus, they purchase whatever oil appeals to their nose, regardless of whether it is labeled as organic or not. These buyers are misinformed.
Organic Aromatherapy Essential Oils: Is There a Difference?
There is a big of a difference between organic essential oils and non-organic ones. Recognizing the features that set the latter apart from any other types of essential oil is important if you care to get the most qualitative results out of using these oils. Always pay attention to the certification provided by the USDA (United States Department of Agriculture) in order to differentiate an organic essential oil from one that is not. This is the most basic thing to be noticing. Having that certification alone requires a difficult and tedious process for ensuring that a specific oil meets the standard the organization has set, and thus helps safeguard its quality and accountability.
Where to Buy Aromatherapy Oils?
Indeed, a lot of people are now aware of the benefits of aromatherapy oils, that is why a lot of manufacturers are selling essential oils in every part of the globe. However, for me I think the best place to buy essential oils are from oil farms. In places like New Zealand (where I live now), some farms grow their own plant material and make their own essential oil out of it. I remember buying a Lavender oil from an Antique and Collectible store in Oxford St., Levin. The owner of the shop happens to produce her own Lavender Oil from her Lavender farm. It was the best Lavender oil that I have purchased so far.
